|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Edmonton's best kept secret! The Artists Borealis was an informal group of about 11-15 professional artists who paint in and around Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in the heart of the northern boreal forest where the majority of its members reside. Its members came together under the guidance of Don Sharpe and the late Al Buckell because of their common passion for painting the exciting and varied Alberta landscape. Its member artists work in diverse styles using a variety of media, including oil, watercolours, acrylics, coloured pencils and pastels. Artists Borealis met monthly in rotation to discuss art, view members' works, share experiences, ideas, to motivate each other, and to learn from each other through honest, hard-nosed critiques. Unfortunately, due to personal differences, the group has disbanded, but has agreed to this final "Farewell Exhibition" as a fund raiser for Trintiy United Church. Artists Borealis would like to thank Art Beat Art Gallery, Candler Art Gallery, Generations Gallery, Trinity United Church and the former Special T Gallery for their support and association.
