ABOUT  DOUG  FRASER

Douglas is a Canadian artist who lives in St. Albert – a satelite city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Douglas works with a variety of media, including pastels, watercolours, acrylics, pencils, as well as pen and ink.

Recognized for his harmonious treatment of colour, he creates fine art works for people to enjoy – pieces that prompt a memory, remind of a place, recall an experience, suggest a metaphor, or touch a chord.

His formation as an artist is a blend of self-directed study, experience and is complemented by his professional background in engineering, research, and adult education.

Douglas states: "There are two major influences on my art – people and place. Family, friends and acquaintances have shared their cultures, values, knowledge, humour and insights with me. Canada's grand spaces and distinct seasons, Scotland's Highland beauty, Europe's rich diversity and Korea's morning calm move me."
