Graham is a western artist whose watercolours reflect his passion
for painting. Primarily self-taught in the areas of design and composition,
Flatt strives to maintain the delicate balance between his passion for watercoluor
and the logical orderly application of his design. His dedication to watercolour
painting has allowed him to move freely within the realm and has ultimately
resulted in his signature style of painting.In 2000 at
the C.M. Russell Auction of Original Western Art in Great Falls, Montana Graham
was awarded the Ralph "Tuffy" Berg Award for the "Best New Artist'.
Since then Graham has quickly emerged as one of Canada's top western watercolourists
with numerous sold out shows and awards throughout Canada and the United States.
He also honoured as the "Featured Artist" at
the 2001 Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.Graham generously donates his time, energy, and paintings to
support a wide variety of local, regional, national, and international charities
such as the Canadian Diabetic Association(CDA), the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation(JDRF), Stollery Children's Hospital, the Calgary Stampede Scholarship
Fund, the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) Cowboy Benevolent Fund, S.T.A.R.S., Ducks
Unlimited (DU), the Art Without Borders (AWOB) Scholarship Fund, and the C.M.
Russell Museum.His donations have helped local hospitals fund much needed equipment,
local schools build playgrounds and fund field trips, local sports teams offset
travel expenses, and assisted a variety of other local organizations fund and
expand their programs.Graham is also a frequent juror and guest lecturer and contributor
to a variety of local and regional art associations and societies.He currently maintains a busy schedule of workshops in not only
Western Canada but also the Western and Mid-Western United States.
