Jean was born in Edmonton, Alberta and, when at six years of age her family
moved to a small town not far from Edmonton, she fell in love with the countryside.
In 1975 while attending junior high she started taking watercolour lesssons
and painting became a passion. She would spend many sleepless nights working
out compositions and colour schemes.
Jean married and had childern who inherited her love of art. She worked as a
decorator and clerk at Sears for many years and when her daughters went into
the decorating business she joined in the fun and worked long hours with them.
Jean became a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Society
of Western Canadian Artists and a member of Artists Borealis a group based in
Edmonton.
She has also been enjoying teaching acrylic painting since 1998. When asked,
she will tell you that going on a photo shoot to the mountains with her artist
friends or just packing a lunch and driving around for a day in and around Edmonton
are the best of times. Even though her life is very busy with work and children,
there is always time to paint, sometimes late into the night. She considers
herself so fortunate to live in such a beautiful province with country landscapes
and mountains. She is blessed to have great support from her family and friends. |
